Castle Bootery Set to Close its Doors in Downtown Westfield

After more than 70 years in business, the Castle Bootery in Downtown Westfield is closing. The popular children’s shoe store announced its impending closure to customers via email.

“We want to thank all of you for your support and patronage over the years,” the email read. “We have greatly enjoyed working with you and your children and will miss the community.”

Castle Bootery’s owner claimed the closure was prompted by a “lost lease,” while the building’s owner insists that is untrue, according to a report on the Westfield Patch.

Castle Bootery’s last day of operation is December 30, according to the shop’s email.
