After a fierce campaign from Thomas’ {of English Muffin fame}, the faux holiday, National Bagel Day, was officially moved from February 9, a date it shared with National Pizza Day, to January 15.
“After years of watching National Bagel Day share the spotlight with National Pizza Day, Thomas’ hosted a poll where hundreds of bagel lovers across the country “hole”-heartedly voted in favor of changing the date and giving the iconic breakfast staple its very own day of appreciation,” quipped Thomas’ on its nationalbagelday.com website.
A fine excuse to swing by Clark Supreme Bagels in the Clarkton Shopping Center on Raritan Road, a shop that enjoys a fervent following from many locals.
“The best bagels in the country,” posted Ashley Smith in a review on Google. “I flew home to NJ for just the weekend and I had to make sure to come here for a bagel. I’ll forever be a loyal fan of these bagels. They might be the thing I miss about NJ the most.”
“A real staple in Clark,” added Adric Quackenbush in another review.
Besides its delectable French Toast Bagel, Clark Supreme Bagels is also known for its delightful Rainbow Bagel, its take on a 2016 food craze.
