In March, when the State of New Jersey mandated that all gyms be closed to help slow the spread of the deadly COVID-19 Coronavirus there were still faint hopes that they could re-open quickly.
“We will close effective immediately,” posted Clark’s CKO Kickboxing on March 16, “We are hoping to be able to reopen in two weeks, but of course, this will be dependent on the instruction we get from state and local officials.”
When the forced closure dragged on, CKO pivoted to online classes to stay connected with its members. Since then, despite the hardships of not being able to utilize its Central Avenue location, patrons have been able to access a growing schedule of classes with the establishment’s top instructors.
It’s still unclear when gyms like CKO will be given the green light to open back up.
