As COVID-19 rapidly devoured the local retail scene in March, shops that specialized in group outings like AR Workshop in Downtown Westfield immediately saw it was their duty to act.
“Our small business is built on workshops, events and visits from our DIY community. It was a difficult decision to make, but with your health, social distancing protocol, and our civic duty to help ‘flatten the curve’, we made the decision to cancel our scheduled workshops,” said Joanna Rapuzzi, the owner of AR Workshop Westfield.
To help keep their creative community engaged, AR Workshop initially offered DIY-To-Go Kits that quickly sold out. Now, Rapuzzi’s website is selling gift cards for classes when the crisis subsides.
“We are so thankful for all the support we have received from each and every one of you! Our customers are truly the best!” Rapuzzi added. “Please keep ALL of your local businesses in mind during this time and do what you can to help keep us little guys around! We will need you.”
