New Jersey Monthly’s annual “Best New Restaurants” has hit newsstands, and Cranford’s 100 Steps Supper Club & Raw Bar and A Toute Heure are receiving accolades once again.
Both restaurants on Centennial Avenue aren’t new, but under new ownership, and therefore were eligible for inclusion on the magazine’s list, calling them “New Except for Name.”
The mag says 100 Steps Supper Club & Raw Bar, under new owner Jack Tagmouti and new chef Joe Beninato, glistens with a creative menu that features more meat.
“Not a bad way to start off the year,” 100 Steps boasted on social media.
Meanwhile, New Jersey Monthly says A Toute Heure’s New American menu now draws upon the Portuguese culinary roots of its new chef Alex Gomes.
Both restaurants were founded by local favorites Jim and Andrea Carbine, who sold them to separate owners last year. The Carbines are credited with being early adapters to the farm-to-table movement.
