The popular Fanwood Grille on Martine Avenue in Downtown has quietly closed down. The small storefront’s windows are completely covered with paper and its social media channels have gone silent. Calls to Fanwood Grille are unanswered and its email account triggers a bounce back error message. In addition, New Jersey Yelpers report this location has been closed.
Fanwood Grille opened in July of 2017, and gained nationwide notoriety in 2018 after its scratchmade soup was named the best in New Jersey by The Daily Meal. At the time, the publication noted that Fanwood Grille’s soup varieties changed daily and were made fresh using only the best seasonal ingredients.
The restaurant was also a well-loved stop on the annual Hot Dog Nation Tour of New Jersey.
