Ferraro’s Helping Hands Fund Feeds Frontline COVID-19 Healthcare Heroes in Westfield and Beyond

When the COVID-19 death toll was surging, hospitals were at capacity and first responders were making more cardiac runs than ever before, Ferraro’s restaurant in Westfield created the Helping Hands Fund to help feed and show support for local doctors, nurses, police, fire, EMS and others.

“With your donation you will be able to buy lunch or dinner for doctors and nurses who are working around the clock for our community and for everyone in New Jersey,” the Ferraro’s Family posted earlier this Spring, “We will be using your donations to feed all local police stations, rescue squads, fire departments, hospitals, etc.”

Since April 9, Ferraro’s has raised thousands of dollars and has dished out hundreds of meals, often posting images of happy healthcare workers during delivery times. Many posts include the names of area families who made the donation of meals possible.

“Through these challenging times we all look to each other with a helping hand and these donations will not go unnoticed,” they added. “Thank you for supporting small businesses and our frontline heroes.”
