YESTERcades, the throwback arcade parlor, has opened its doors on East Broad Street in Downtown Westfield. The owners say they hope to bring classic gaming experiences to a whole new generation of youngsters… and those young at heart.
“We at YESTERcades want to thank everyone that helped get our third location off the ground as well as all of those that attended our Grand Opening and made us feel very welcomed to be part of such a wonderful town!,” posted YESTERcades on Facebook.
YESTERcades machines are set on “free play” and do not need coins or tokens to operate. Instead, time is purchased hourly with unlimited gaming for visitors.
The location also hosts birthday parties and other events.
“Whether you’re a kid or an adult you’re are never too old to have a party here at YESTERcades,” the arcade added on Facebook.
The new arcade’s location was most recently the sprawling, former home of City Sports.
YESTERcades two other New Jersey locations are in Red Bank and Somerville.
