Garwood’s &grain Shifts Mission to Help Local Community During Pandemic

Garwood’s popular &grain bakery and cafe is helping those in need during the COVID-19 crisis. Owner John Ropelski is offering free bread for the elderly and anyone who was laid off during the pandemic. Starting on March 31, Ropelski said he would help out anyone who needed loaves as long as the pandemic lasts, or he could no longer afford to do so.

“I know that everyone is going through some kind of hardship right now and I want to do my part to help,” he explained, “I feel so honored to offer assistance, even if it’s in the smallest way.”

&grain launched a GoFundMe page to raise funds to keep the free program churning out fresh baked bread.
