HPL is the sister restaurant to Houdini Kitchen Laboratory in Ridgewood, Queens. Creator and Chef Max Bartoli brings his original recipes to New Jersey through a partnership with your friends at Darby Road Pub. This new venture is close to the hearts of the two owners of Darby Road as both Joseph Mortarulo & John Brandli III come from pizzeria backgrounds.

Harry Houdini had the rare ability to make the impossible seem effortless. He worked at his craft daily, and to this day, he is known as the greatest magician of all-time. Houdini Pizza Laboratory shares that same level of commitment and have demonstrated they can deliver Italian staples and reimagined classics with a (seemingly effortless) wave of a magic wand.
