It was a random question from celebrated Star Ledger foodie Pete Genovese that got us thinking. Genovese tweeted: “What are NJs best under-the-radar dining destinations? Nominate a town, and the best restaurants there.”
That made us think about our hometowns. Not much under the radar here… except, up on the Boulevard! We told Genovese that Kenilworth should make his list.
Kenilworth has got to be one of the most overlooked in the State! While it’s well known locally by foodies, it’s not on many must-go lists beyond our area.

From cheap, delicious eats at Jimmy Buffs, Kenilworth Diner, American Melts, The Lab and Massimo Deli to fine dining at Boulevard 572, La Campagnola, La Griglia, Le Rendez-Vous and Taormina, Kenilworth is tasty!

Mid-priced favorites in between include great Thai, Greek, Indian, Portuguese and Pizza (Big Apple!!).
Meanwhile, The Star Ledger’s magazine featured the borough in its Edible Exit column, lauding Bella Palermo Pastry Shop, Cafe Liberty, Don Alex, Jimmy Buff’s and Tum Thai.
