It’s been a few months since the new owner of the venerable Florence Ravioli Co. on Park Avenue has taken the helm, and the establishment’s new flavor is starting to materialize.
Customers of the local favorite will find a newly renovated space, new signage, new logo, new menu items and new friendly faces.
“I look forward to continuing almost 80 years of tradition,” commented the owner, Les Turchin. “My Mom will be there cooking with me and my daughters hanging out and smiling at the counter.”
Florence Ravioli Co.’s origins date back to 1943 at its original location on South 10th Street in Newark. Since then, its recipe for uniquely shaped {more rectangular than you’ll typically find} stuffed pasta has been closely guarded and maintained.
“Our ravioli recipe has been handed down for generations,” added Turchin.
Florence Ravioli Co. moved to its current location {next door to John’s Meat Market} in Scotch Plains Centre in the 1960s.
