Viva Scotch Plains!
This Summer, the cuisine of Route 22 got more diverse with the long-awaited opening of Havana Mia.
Since July, the establishment has offered pressed sandwiches, including its traditional Cuban; ham, pork, swiss cheese, pickles and mustard. In addition, they serve up Lechon Asado, ox tail, BBQ ribs and the classic dish, Ropa Vieja, shredded beef served with rice and beans.
“Food is fresh, well prepared and authentic,” yelped Paul T. of Garwood. “Wifey, who is Cuban, said the Cuban sandwich is as good as its gets.”
The casual restaurant makes fine use of the former Burger King, and has a Miami-like fast food vibe featuring a stellar mural of Cuba’s capital.
Havana Mia Cuban Restaurants also operates a location in North Jersey.
