Boyle Financial Associates LLC, a father and son team, is a Cranford firm that specializes in services for families and small businesses. In a recent interview, the Vice President, Jim Boyle (on the right above) discussed why he loves to support all things local.
Q: What are the biggest perks to having your financial firm located in the heart of Downtown Cranford?
A: My father created Boyle Financial in 2001. I joined the firm in 2015. We moved recently into our Downtown office to better serve our clients and to be part of the exciting influx of new investments in our local business hub. Our downtowns are truly the lifeblood of our communities, both socially and financially. Our office enjoys ample amenities in town, including dining and shopping. But, unlike big cities, Cranford has a hometown feel where everyone can feel free to say hello to one another. I love that.
Q: Why do you think the “shop local” movement has caught on?
A: I think people are starting to understand the economic impacts of local economies and how spending money in our towns is really a wise investment for the future of our neighborhoods. For example, studies show that home prices near a prosperous town center are stronger than other locations. Also, I think local merchants have stepped-up their game over the past decade and have realized that they need to offer stellar service and competitive pricing to survive against online competition and big box stores.
Q: What are some of your favorite shopping destinations in town?
A: That’s a tough one! I am a big fan of vintage comics so Rogue Comics and Collectibles is a frequent stop of mine. The pros at Hilltop Bicycles are fantastic. Lattes from Track 5. Simply Art & Framing, Periwinkles and Augusta Mae Boutique for one-of-a-kind gifts. The list goes on and on! I am a firm believer in the motto that it’s Cooler in Cranford!
