After getting its start as a 100% plant-based food truck, Soul Bowls now has a storefront locale on Mountain Avenue in Scotch Plains.
“Feels good to say… we’re open,” posted owner and Scotch Plains resident Michelene Lambros on Facebook just moments after welcoming guests on her first day of business.
In 2017, Lambros began the successful startup that quickly grew in leaps and bounds by building a loyal following at the Scotch Plains Farmers Market and elsewhere.
Soul Bowls’ sweet spot is offering homemade food that is fresh, vegan and organic. Go-to ingredients include Acai, organic pitaya, raw soulnola, raw agave and local produce.
“We want to bring food full circle from picked to purchased,” said Lambros in an interview, “all of our ingredients are simply plants, aka gifts from mother earth.”
Soul Bowls held a ribbon cutting ceremony in May. It is located at 2397 Mountain Avenue in the former home of Classic Cleaners {a few doors down from Nunzio’s Pizza}.
