Westfield’s Restaurant Row Crosswalks Gets Dose of Color for LGBTQ Pride

To help celebrate LGBTQ Pride Month, Downtown Westfield’s crosswalks at Quimby and Elm Streets were painted with rainbow colors by Westfield High School students.

“Feeling the Pride in the heart of our town,” posted the Downtown Westfield Corporation. “WHS members of the LGBTQ and Folio clubs and EIS art teacher Helen Frees worked through the night to install this show of Pride.”

The art installation brought joy to many during the ongoing Pandemic shutdown and delayed opening of indoor dining for the town’s cafes.

“Westfield Pride!” posted @hillarykaplan2, “Way to go WHS students!!”

“I saw it when I ran this AM! My heart sang!!, added lgheitner.
