“Blonde” chocolate is trending nationwide and The Chocolate Bar of Westfield has produced its very own version of it just in time for Valentine’s Day.
“Our version of blonde chocolate is a more complex white chocolate with hints of caramel and cinnamon,” said Neil Grote, the shop’s owner.
Chocolatiers and pastry chefs have been using blonde chocolate (basically, caramelized white chocolate) for years, but it recently went mainstream with Starbucks, Hershey’s and others touting their “blonde” varietals.
The Chocolate Bar on Quimby street is known for identifying trends and putting their own quality spin on it. In 2017, they famously unleashed a unicorn-styled concoction, a drink that had gone wildly viral.
