Westfield & Garwood’s Farmhouse Stores Get Shout-Out in Statewide Mag

The Farmhouse Store on East Broad Street in Downtown Westfield and its Outlet on South Avenue in Garwood are the “Favorite Independent Shop” of New Jersey Family magazine, making the publication’s “3rd Annual Ultimate Bucket List.”

“This place is packed with charm from furniture made from reclaimed wood to unique wall hangings by local artisans, hand-crafted jewelry and vintage-inspired giftware,” the publication explained, calling the Farmhouse Store and Outlet location, “a treat to visit.”

The annual New Jersey Family survey includes a mix of reader and editor reviews.

The Farmhouse Store, a beloved 10,000 square foot emporium specializing in home goods and furniture, often touts its indy roots and local creds.

“We are very proud to be a family business,” said the Farmhouse Team and its owner, Ed Menapace. “I am very grateful and moved to be working side by side with my family.”

Management says they frequently stock new products and offer many pieces that are one-of-a-kind.

The Farmhouse Store also has worked closely with the Downtown Westfield Corporation on many projects to help promote and celebrate the community. In 2018, they commissioned an illustrator to commemorate the town’s unique local streetscape featuring Arcanum Hall and other local landmarks.

“We love having a business in this great town,” Menapace added.

The Farmhouse Store opened its first location in Westfield in 2007 on North Avenue and moved to its current East Broad Street shop in 2009. Its Outlet opened in Garwood in 2017.
