With the Christmas and holiday shopping season fast approaching, The Town Book Store (TBS) in Downtown Westfield explained why it’s such an important time for independent retailers.
“I cannot believe that I am facing down my 13th holiday season at TBS! How is this even possible?” asked owner, Anne Laird in her latest newsletter. “I know as a customer, all the focus on Christmas, even before Thanksgiving, can be irritating but, when you own a little retail establishment you have to look ahead to the all-important holiday gift giving season.”
She went on to explain how the holiday rush helps TBS, and other retailers, get through slower times in the year.
Also, she promoted her services and pointed-out to local shoppers that despite the store’s relative smaller size, she can obtain any book not stocked in the shop easily and quickly.
“If we don’t have what you are looking for, we place multiple orders every week so your order arrives as soon as the next day… with no shipping charges.”
A local perk indeed.
TBS opened on September 4, 1934, and is one of last independent bookstores located in Union County.
