The Westfield Area has a number of stellar Sushi haunts. In Fanwood, a local gem in Downtown is Ginger Sushi. For those not really in the know, it’s easy to drive right by the restaurant on South Avenue. The storefront is narrow and very unassuming. But, inside, the place has a great welcoming, cozy atmosphere. Ginger Sushi is family owned and operated and it makes a difference. Just ask any of the establishment’s devoted fans and they will tell you the service is just one of the key reasons that make people return again and again.
As for the food, the fish is always fresh and delicious. Watch for their latest Ginger Special of the Month. As of this writing, a 10-piece Tsunami Roll is the real catch. The roll includes spicy crab, lobster salad and scallops, with cucumber, avocado, scallion. It’s all finished off with a delicious “crunch” and caviar on top.
For eel lovers, don’t miss the S.S.T. Roll- it mixes shrimp tempura and broiled eel, scallion and a spicy mayo.
